Glass

We do not use glass on any image we ship from DartmouthImages.com.

The Dartmouth image you select deserves the high performance display covering that is used by many fine art galleries and museums throughout the world. We protect your image with Cyro Industries. Acrylite ® OP-2 or Op-3 acrylic sheets. Your protective covering has the following characteristics:

--proprietary technology for excellent optical quality and clarity

--unsurpassed protection from damaging ultraviolet (UV) rays. UV is naturally present in sunlight and to a lesser degree exists in halogen and fluorescent lamps. UV gradually degrades fabric and paper until they become brittle or fade or turn yellow. Acrylite ® screens out 98% of all UV rays and employs a new technology that eliminates .yellow tint.
--lightweight compared with glass, which allows us to have lower prices since we have lower shipping costs

--impact-resistant compared with standard framing glass

--shatter-resistant to reduce the possibility that shards might damage your image or be of danger to individuals if an accident occurs in your home.

It is easy to maintain the optical clarity and the UV protection of an Acrylite ® covering:

--Dust the frame and the acrylic covering with a soft cloth to remove surface dirt

--Apply a mild soap solution using a spray bottle, a moistened sponge or soft cloth

--Do not use commercial cleaners that contain harsh chemicals such as ammonia or alcohol

--Dry with a soft, lint-free cloth
