Q. How do I make a purchase on the DartmouthImages.com website?
A. We have built a Step-by-Step approach to shopping on our website. When you find a department of interest click on it—the next page will show various categories within that department. Click on an image that appeals, and the next page will show you how our designers would size, mat and frame the image. But you will be able to make all of your own decisions by going from Step 1 to Step 4.
Q. Are the Dartmouth images originals or reproductions?
A. All images available on DartmouthImages.com come from the archives of the Baker-Berry Library at Dartmouth College or from other sources throughout the Dartmouth College community. The original images are photographed or scanned and then converted to a digital format. DartmouthImages.com has selected an experienced digital printer who makes high quality reproductions—one image at a time-- based on your order. The result is a fine giclee print. Q. How do I make decisions about sizes, frames, mats and glazing?
A. You will find information on each of these important options on special information pages on our site. For a general overview, click on Our Designer Picks. On the Product Detail page for each image you will see exactly what options are available for that particular image since not all options are the same for each image. Furthermore, to assist your decision making, our designers have pre-selected size, mats, frames and glazing for each image.
Q. Can I change or cancel my order?
A. You can change your order, remove an image from your cart or cancel the entire order at any time during your shopping visit. However, once you click "Submit Order" instructions are sent automatically to the vendor printing and framing according to your instructions--the fulfillment process is underway. So, please review your order in detail before you click "Submit Order".
You are always protected by the DartmouthImages.com Guarantee and by our Return/Exchange policy.
Q. Can I return or exchange my purchase?
A. All purchases are protected by our Guarantee policy so you must be completely satisfied with your purchase. If you are not satisfied, we will credit your purchase as an exchange for another image. If you are not satisfied, you can return any purchase; however, our images are created specifically for you and are subject to a re-stocking fee of $35.00 per item. Please review our Guarantee and Exchange/Return policies by clicking here.
Q. What do I do if my purchase arrives damaged?
A. Save the packaging and all elements of your shipment if there is any damage. Then send an email to us at customer.service@DartmouthImages.com with a description and/or a picture of the problem. We will, of course, take all of the necessary steps to solve the problem and get you exactly what you purchased. We will deal with the freight company, on your behalf, if the damage involved is a result of problems during the shipping process itself.
Q. How can I check on the status of my shipment, return or exchange?
A. The best way to follow up on any transaction is to email your question or request to us at customer.service@DartmouthImages.com. You can also telephone us at 800 634 2667 or fax us at 603 643 2718. If your purchase has already been shipped, we will give you the name of the shipper, a control number and the best way to communicate with that shipper to secure tracking information.
Q. Can I order offline?
A. Of course, we are happy to take your order any way that works best for you. You can order by telephone at 800 634 2667. You can click here for an Order Form that you can print on your computer. Fill out the Order Form and fax it to us at 603 643 2718. You can also send us the Order Form to 21 South Main Street, Hanover, NH 03755
Q. Is shopping at DartmouthImages.com secure and safe?
A. You can be sure you are shopping safely when you purchase from DartmouthImages.com. Security is provided by Secure Socket Layer (SSL) encryption, which we believe is one of the best Internet technologies available for secure transactions. Your credit card transaction is totally encrypted for safety; encryption means that the characters you enter into the computer are converted to coded data that is then transmitted over the Internet. So, while you are on our site you should have no fear of theft of your name, personal information or credit card number.
You can check to see that the SSL security protection is actually working by looking at the code at the top of your browser-- it will change from http/ to https/ when you proceed to Checkout. Also, you will see a closed lock or key (depending on your browser) in the lower right hand side of your screen when, and only when, you are connected to a secure server.
In order to protect yourself and to monitor your purchases, you should print the transaction screen at Checkout so that you will have a record to check against your credit card billing. This print out will also help if you need to return or exchange an item.
One caution: email is not secure over the Internet, so do not put private or privileged information in your email messages.
Q. How will DartmouthImages.com use the information I provide over the Internet?
A. The policy we follow to protect you and your information is detailed for you when you click Privacy.
However, at DartmouthImages.com you are in control of the specific information we use and how we use it. You can opt in or opt out of any of our programs by contacting us by telephone, mail, fax or email. We will, in all cases, respect your wishes.
